Adios to a pure soul..:(

Innocence, maturity, talent, motherly love, good sense of humor, Heartening to see a human who is so true to herself. The toughest situation to encounter is always the feeling of missing someone. Impact they make, impression they create, value they add, moments they share will end up in memories. So much horrible to accept the truth of moving apart. Can’t go/accept in a philosophical path saying such things are quite common and are bound to happen.

Level of technical knowledge shown at the very initial level gives a sign of intelligence, balancing official and personal work shows how organized, thinking of the loved ones(parents, hubby, kid) all throughout shows the importance given for relationships, whatever be the situation.. everlasting smiling face displays the level of confidence, what else can I say about this wonderful human being.

I would love to say that you ll be in the list of most special persons in my life. Thank you so much for being such a wonderful friend. I ll cherish the moments we shared with our gang for most part of my life. I feel like I am blessed to have a friend like you. I feel like talking to my sister when I talk to you. I could hardly find any faults in you, you are just perfect! Wish you all happiness in this world. I wish you a very bright future. May all your dreams come true. Take care. I ll pray to god that we should stay in touch for long time, thanks to social networking sites. Wish you a very happy married life. Loads of love…..Bye Bye Sathnika!!!

Opinion matters!!!

Wonder how human brain is organized, it can handle ideas, flow of thoughts, functioning of it is incredible. Thoughts are uncontrollable that they never move out of the mind even one try to keep them away. Opinion, Judgement, belief, feelings, view whatever. Handle many commanding respects, Brain is a superpower.

Opinions always matter. To convince, tending to alter opinion, to receive one ‘s adulation, to show off, not to hurt someone ‘s personal, tends to be diplomatic. In the process, opinion becomes corrupted. Belief of opinion to be right, leads to reluctance to change it. With a good exposure, comes out of the narrowness of thoughts and see the world in a right way. Crapping when putting opinions is strictly not recommended. It becomes important as it degrades the value and trustworthiness of opinion, ending up in losing individuality.

Is Maradona ‘Messing’ with Messi?
By Princy James – June 18th, 2010Email Facebook Twitter Print
The King should be delighted and take pride in his best soldier. But unfortunately this case doesn’t apply for the Argentine squad – where the greatest player in football history and the greatest player of the times come together – Diego Maradona and Lionel Messi.

On field, there are many things that unite both – the talent, the agility, instinct, and how they dribble past the defenders; one can draw lots of parallels here. In fact,we can see a carbon copy of Maradona in Messi. Strange it might seem, but there are more things other than their short stature that unites Messi and Maradona. In 2007, with disbelief in its eyes, the world watched Messi replicating Maradona’s ‘Goal of the Century’ against the Spanish club Getafe. Is it mere co-incidence or a miracle that the touches (13), duration (13 seconds), and the number of opponents (6) were identical to that of Maradona’s?

Watch Messi’s Goal of the century replica

It doesn’t stop here; weeks later, Messi even did a ‘Hand of God’ goal by punching in a score against Espanol.

Messi's and Maradona's 'Hand of God'
Maradona was a genius who failed miserably when it came to handling fame. His best achievements were always overshadowed by a story of deceit. The ‘Hand of God’ and the ‘Goal of the century’ is something that happened back-to-back! Outside court, he always sought wrong solace – drugs, alcohol, etc. Here was an incredibly talented but unsure man always seen fidgeting as if his overactive mind couldn’t be contained in that small body!

Talk about Messi! He is too young for the accolades accorded to him. Still, there is some unusual serenity in this guy that reminds of calm waters with powerful under currents. Aggressiveness takes a positive hue when it comes to Messi. Beyond the angelic face, there is something about him that sends cold shivers down the spine of the opponents. Like Diego, Messi too is hard to be contained, but only on the field.

What do you expect when the ‘best’ meets the ‘best’? Even before the World Cup kicked off, many doubts were raised regarding the Maradona-Messi relationship. In fact the not-so cordial affair had given way to serious apprehensions. Many doubted whether Maradona would be able utilize Messi’s full potential. The fact that Barca’s prolific Messi failed to yield the same with his national team fuelled these fears.

Is Messi considered an outsider in Argentina? Having spent more than a decade in Spain with Barca, he is not held that close to the hearts of Argentines as Maradona. Messi had his reasons – his club ‘Newell’s Old Boys’ wasn’t willing to spend for his medical expenses; Messi had no other option but to switch to Barca which meant cutting his national ties. Messi left his country out of need, not out of greed, and he was denied a chance to become a national hero like Maradona or Eva Peron or Che Guevara! But all these often fall to the deaf ears of the football fanatics of his country. Being not poor is considered a sin by the people there even if there is no logic connection between poverty and virtue; and nor does Messi care to owe an explanation, because Messi rarely talks for himself, and whenever he does, he lets the game do the talking. Virtuosity, not virtue, is what matters most to Messi.

When Argentines failed to rise to the expectations in their opening match, many doubted Maradona’s decision of excluding the ‘passing machine’ Riquelme from his squad. Maradona, they say, makes decisions with his heart not head, something that cannot be applicable in a game where tactics matter equally as talent.

Maradona and Riquelme – who inherited the former’s No 10 shirt at Boca, never saw eye to eye. Their feuds eventually lead to Riquelme’s omission from the World Cup squad; a big loss to the team. Many doubted Javier Mascherano’s calibre to replace Riquelme. But Argentineans’ big win over Korea erases all these doubts and allegations and Maradona is hailed once again, thanks to Messi and Higuan’s effort, and the great teamwork they exhibited.

Selfish player (?), a prodigy worth watching – the same Maradona is behind all these contradictory remarks about Messi. Has it got something to do with envy lying deep down under there? The fear of a new kid taking over his throne? Baseless fear I say, for Argentines’ love for Messi is different from that for Maradona, and Messi is the least desperate to take it over from him. In fact, the comparison is suffocating the kid a lot and it’s a heavy burden for him, by his own admission. In Messi’s own words: “To be the best player in the world, I have to prove it at the World Cup.” This task is shared by both Maradona and Messi alike – both have to lead the nation to victory to prove their worth. It could earn Messi a constant place in the heart of Argentines, a chance of becoming one amongst them.

For Maradona, it will serve to wash away his sins and he will be elated to a new high – someone who took his nation to heights both as a player and a coach. It was pleasing to watch Maradona hugging Messi after their stupendous showdown against the Korean Republic! Let’s hope that he will take it beyond there. It’s up to Maradona now, to cleanse his heart of everything personal, for that’s where Argentina’s fate rests…

Cool Sunday:)

First time, I am trying to insert an image in one of my blogs. Woke up around 11 in the morning. We went for evening walk today. It was a nice sunday. Breeze was too high, windy...temparature around 12 degrees...walking across streets...jackets on..my colleague took pics...had chicken at KFC...cool...

Worst time in a week is monday morning...good bye sunday!!!

Why your flights aren 't safer

The air traffic control (ATC) official who averted the collision between a Jet Airways flight and an Indigo aircraft on Wednesday had a slice of luck.

Spotting the Indigo plane from the ATC tower located a few hundred metres away was not easy, especially because the airfield was pitch dark. As in this case, lack of coordination between air and ground traffic control was the common factor in the past few near-mishaps.

Simply put, a plane on the tarmac stood in the way of a plane about to land or vice versa. On April 20, a Kingfisher flight to Bhavnagar carrying 30 had to abort take-off because a GoAir flight that had just landed was late in vacating the runway.

Similarly, a Kingfisher flight cancelled take-off because an Air India flight landed on the same runway last October. Air safety experts feel that a Surface Movement Radar (SMR) would make the ATC's work simpler by ensuring proper coordination between ground and air traffic.

A Directorate General of Civil Aviation preliminary report on Wednesday's incident also recommended installation of the SMR. The radar can capture anything, from a dog to a jumbo jet, moving on the tarmac even during low visibility.

"It makes traffic management in the air and on the ground easy," said MG Jhunghare, general manager, ATC (western region). The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has procured the radar but it is lying wrapped in boxes because officials are struggling to find a suitable spot to install it.

"The airport's ground infrastructure is set to change constantly because of the modernisation," said an AAI official requesting anonymity as he is not authorised to speak to the media. Delhi's is the only airport in India to have the SMR.

In an airport like Mumbai's, SMR is crucial because flights simultaneously take off and land on runways that intersect. "The window of error is small. A small gap in coordination between pilots and the ATC could lead to disaster," said a Boeing commander with a private airline.

Worse, India's second busiest airport has one-third of its air traffic manager posts vacant. Despite several demands to augment manpower, the department that handles 700 take-offs and landings every day is short of more than 100 personnel. Upgradation of the airport's air navigation set-up is adding to the pressure.

"In addition to our existing work, we are being trained to use the new technology," said a tower controller. The airport is likely to get software that gives real-time information of touchdowns and alerts the ATC when two planes are too close to each other.

Recent cases 2010 May 27: A Jet Airways flight aborted landing because an Indigo flight was blocking the runway. April 20: A Kingfisher flight aborted take-off to ensure that a GoAir flight, which had landed, was off the runway. 2009 October: A Kingfisher aircraft was about to take off when an Air India flight from Nagpur landed on the same runway.

Life in Amsterdam - 2

This post I ll try to put what all things I have found interesting/New/funny/good/not so good in Amsterdam.
1) Firstly, the jeans guys here wear. Too good. Excellent.
2) People here are tall, when compared to people in India.
3) We have buses, Trams. We make use of chip karts(which mean bus tickets). We need to show it to driver, when we take up a journey. We have to say zones, like 1 zone, 2 zone depending on the distance of destination.
4) Everything is punctual, 8 15 bus will come at sharp 8 15. Even in office, everyone will be by 9, and leave by 5. Luch will be at 12 30, and you ll see everyone back to their seats by 1 15.
5) You have to depend on Pizzas and Burgers. You cannot expect Indian food here.
So you have to be flexible enough to accept food here.
6) Temparature here is around 12 degree centigrade. Hmm too cool. People always have coat over them. Sun sets here at 9 30 PM, 10 PM in the evening...strange...but yes. At 9 pm in the evening, you ll feel as if it is 3 in the afternoon.
7) We had Buklava, it is a kind of sweet. too good.

More to come...

Life in Amsterdam - 1

15th May 2010. I have landed here in Amsterdam, Netherlands for my onsite assignment. My colleague came to airport to receive me. She was waiting for me at the place where customs checking was going on. I was very happy to see her, as it was my first travel to any other country. All throughout my journey, i was in a kind of bother. Seeing her, felt very relaxed. Then we walked towards exit. she took few pics of mine at the airport.
I have booked a cab to my place, where I was going to stay. We went in cab. Dutch cab, dutch people, all new.

I met my colleague, with whom I am going to stay. After having all discussions, about my travel, happenings at offshore, gossips, formalities, I was tired by then.
I fell asleep. To my surprise, by the time i woke up, it was sunday evening, i was actually in a feeling it was saturday evening...i slept for around 18 hours:)

I went to office, the following day. My manager here introduced me to all our clients. Nissan manager took me to all the departments, traffic & customs, inventory, logistics, planning, he also took me to the warehouse and showed each and every aspect of the plant, explaining everything about the details of each section of business very lucidly. He has lot of patience. I have tried to grasp most of the things which he was saying me. I used to have a feeling, it might be difficult to understand english of these people, but it was not a problem. I was comfortable with the english these dutch people speak.

Her name is Lavanya

Fortunate i am as i had the pleasure of seeing this gorgeous lady. She looks stunning. easily she ll find a place
in the top 5 list of good looking women i have seen till date. She is my unit HR.

Early in the morning, we received a mail from our manager saying, our account will have a meeting
with unit HR Lavanya at 4PM. During lunch time, something was going in my mind, i had a feeling about lady HR 's,
they always look great, coz they are the most free persons in your company, that they concentrate on their looks,
unlike the usual software gals, who are so dedicated to work, who are least bothered about how they look, poor gals.

For the first time, i ve come to know about her 2 days back through one of my colleague.
I have put a mail to her, asking for few documents.
She did not respond immediately. i ve put a remainder mail yesterday as a follow up. Immediate reply to her deputy,
she ordered her to do the needful.

Her gestures were utmost perfect. she never lost her cool throughout the meeting. So many people were trying
to get strong at her.she always made use of template as her response for queries asked by associates,
similar to what my managers do. For questions, which put her in trouble,
she made use of template answer "Currently i have no clue about this concern which you have raised at my level,
i ll discuss with corporate level people and i ll get back to you". Smart gal.

My expectations are met.Personally i feel she did not mastered the art of handling associates,
being a HR. She gave that space to associates to get strong at her. I guess, she is young to this role.

HR is a role for guys who love to talk. who loves to work in a place where work environment is interactive.
who hate to work sitting infront of computer hours together. Similar kind of assignments include journalism,
Management training sessions, inspiring speeches, etc.

we ll find many people coming across in the journey of life. but only few people make an impact. You need not spend
hours together with them. Still they ll create an impact on you.

People say, inner beauty is what one should possess. But to create a good first impression on people, you need to
look good. Lavanya, you rock!!!

Movie - Leader, My opinion

whenever one tries to make an attempt of making a movie based on corruption, i mean to make a movie which involves fight against corruption,
he should kick start the project only if he has with him two points in particular.

1) if at all he has any point to show the public the root cause of curruption, and thereby suggest in a unique way his idea of
eradicating corruption, in other words educating people.

2) If he does not have any new idea, then atleast his presentation of fight against curroption must incorporate novelty in it.

why i say this is there are already many movies made based on fight against corruption, which are blockbusters.
When public comes to watch a movie of similar genre, they expect something new. Something thought provoking.
Something innovative. Something fresh. When they do not get what they expect, when they happen to see the same what they have already seen,
they are disappointed.

People are never interested in personal life of a political leader. They are interested only in what service he has done
to the people. Just to add glamour quotient in the movie, one should not include love interest for a leader, who is
in a most prestigious position of the state, that too in the second half of the movie, where movie is supposed to be serious.
It spoils the mood of the movie. This is a big flaw.

To convert movies of this genre into blockbusters, it definitely needs a movie which needs to be made on a large scale. I mean it should have a hero,
who has huge mass follwing. A director who has caliber of making the movie reach the masses. Coz these kind of movies are made
keeping them in mind. This movie lacks both, which is the reason for poor performance of this movie, which is till date can be said as
first movie of shekhar which is not well received by public.

Shekhar should have made a love story, which he is strong at, instead of trying with this kind of movie. finally, neither his fans (like me)
are satisfied(as we did not get the feel which we got with Godavari, Anand) nor the common audience(coz the movie seems like it is made
only for city folks).

Speaking about its boxoffice performance, first day itself it was clear, this movie will perform atleast to some extent in urban areas(as shekhar
has great following in these areas) , its going to be a dud at B, C centres. Ee maya chesave which released in a week time, was awesome.
EMC is a blockbuster. It was a classic in recent times. This affected the performance of Leader in urban areas. Despite of huge publicity,
Suresh babu running the movie in all his theatres, the movie lacked the euphoria which Shekhar 's previous movies got.

Shekhar kammula ji, I come to watch your movies, coz I am really thrilled by the way you narrate your stories, end of the movie we ll carry the
feel back to home. It did not happen in case of Leader. Sorry, i did not like the movie.

Minister tabled the Union Budget for the next financial year on Friday. The significant proposals in this budget include a hike in the
slabs of individual income tax, levy of Re 1 per litre as excise duty on petrol and diesel, hike in the peak excise duty, hike in excise duty for luxury cars, higher allocation for road infrastructure development, hike in the MAT rate, higher custom duty on crude oil and reduction in the tax surcharge for domestic companies.

The service tax net has been widened by adding some more services in the arena of service tax, but the limit has been retained at 10 percent which is a positive for sectors such as FMCG. The finance minister also reiterated the government's focus on education and generating skilled manpower with a higher allocation towards education.

In general, the markets have taken the budget with positive sentiments, especially the hike in income tax slabs. A rough calculation shows that individuals earning more than Rs 8 lakhs would be able to save Rs 50,000 from their tax burden. This directly means more money in the hands of consumers and investors, and hence an overall feel-good in the markets. As usual, the budget is going to have a positive as well as negative impact on various sectors. These are some significant sectors that will be impacted by the budget proposals in the next fiscal year:

Auto
As expected, the Finance Minister has proposed a hike in the excise duty for cars. The positive factor is the excise duty hike is only for luxury cars and the utility vehicles segment. The duty has been left unchanged for small cars. Analysts believe this is positive for the automobile sector as the demand in the luxury segment should not be elastic, and the volume growth in the sector would not be impacted as there is no change in the duty for small cars.

Although the hike in petrol and diesel prices is seen as a minor negative for the automobile sector, it would not have any major effect on the sales volumes of auto companies.

Oil

The Finance Minister has proposed a duty roll-back on petroleum prices. A basic duty of five percent on crude oil, 7.5 percent on diesel and petrol, and 10 percent on other products is proposed . This means the overall cost of petroleum products will go up. On the other hand, oil marketing companies are facing a tough task in passing the higher costs to consumers. The government is moderating the prices as a steep hike will push the inflation further up, which is already beyond comfortable levels.

Hospitality

The Finance Minister has announced some tax benefits for the hotel industry, especially on investments in the economy segment . This is a positive development as it will give a boost to the investment-intensive hospitality sector, and indirectly have a positive impact on tourism. The government is promoting tourism aggressively for the last few years.

Infrastructure

The allocation has been increased by almost 13 percent for road infrastructure improvement and defence projects. This reiterates the fact that spending on infrastructure development has been among the top priorities of the government. This is a positive development for companies in the infrastructure development space.
However, the gestation period for these projects is quite long and therefore investors with a long-term investment horizon only should look at investing in these stocks.

Power and energy

The power and energy sector got a mixed bag in the current budget. The Finance Minister has announced a cess (clean energy) on domestic and imported coal. This will have a negative impact on the companies that are operating in this segment . On the other hand, the Finance Minister has provided a boost to wind energy and solar energy-related companies by cutting duty on wind farm units.
industry was expecting an extension of the tax holiday (STPI) for another couple of years as it is struggling due to the global slowdown . No further extension has come as a disappointment for the IT sector, but analysts believe the markets were expecting it.
